just thinking...

You dont have to be a size  2, 4, or 6 to be fly, gorgeous or anything else.. Look in the mirror and say im beautiful , smile and keep it pushing. I love my curves my chubby cheeks and my semi cute round booty ( side eye..) but on a serious note. Dont kill yourself trying to be a stick figure .. just get healthy and happier with yourself and become the person you wanna be and live life. Im guilty of negative self talk and im going to stop it. We are all beautiful FLAWS AND ALL...

OH Say it aint so Jenny! ---w/ Update

1st off Happy Friday people. I hope all is well with you and you are planning a lovely weekend. I was doing my round of blog viewing and ran across this article on Sandrarose.com about Jennifer Hudson.I hope that its really just a rumor and she did exercise read on below.

According to online reports, singer/actress Jennifer Hudson was rushed to a NY hospital this morning where she is being treated for “stomach issues”. Jennifer had just performed on the Good Morning America Summer Concert Series on ABC when she suddenly took ill.
She was scheduled to take part in the Outdoor concert series on CBS right after her ABC gig, but an announcement was made that she was unable to perform.
TMZ reports that Hudson was treated for food poisoning. But of course, rumors are now swirling that J-Hud is actually suffering complications from a lap-band procedure.
But we weren’t even aware that she had undergone the gastric, adjustable lap-band procedure, were we?
We were all led to believe that she lost all that weight through diet and exercise.
Common complications for lap band patients include irritation and erosion from band slippage and upper pouch dilation. This can lead to ulceration in the esophagus, pain, nausea and vomiting, internal bleeding and infection.
We certainly hope none of this applies to Jennifer, and that she will recover quickly.

I really hope these are just rumors. I mean I like Jen but she would lose mad respect for lying. I dont believe alot of the weight loss hype when a celebrity that's a bit overweight loses weight very fast remember Anna Nicole ( R.I.P ) claimed Trim Spa did it. My belief is celebs do what they do to lose weight and companies ( JennyCraig, Weight watchers, Trim Spa, Hydroxycut, etc) sees them and hires them. I'm not saying that they don't lose the weight the right way but when its so fast its hard to say. Star Jones lied until her nose grew before she confirmed what we already knew she had surgery. Just be real.

UPDATE:
From Jennifer Hudson's PR Camp.

Okay,
I have read all the garbage and now will insert a few facts.
Star Jones, with all her lies, has ruined massive weight loss for all Black women. Lap Band Surgery is the first thing out of haters mouths when a woman of color loses a large amount of weight, not so fast.
The Facts: Jennifer’s weight loss journey lasted 20 months (not 3 or 6) and it began days after her son’s birth in August of 2009. Her journey began by walking several miles a day and totally changing her eating habits. For a year she ate nothing but baked chicken or fish with brown rice and veggies and lost only about 20 pounds or so. Racked with frustration Jenn switched over to Weight Watchers which taught her portion control and the right combinations of food. WW in tandem with a 5-6 day a week workout routine caused the pounds to fall off. Jennifer does not eat tiny bites, she eats a full meal 5 times or so a day. She did not have Lap Band or any other type of weight loss surgey, period.
Anyone can do what she did, it just takes patience and discipline.
When travelling, as she often does, she tends to eat either restaurant or hotel room service food. Bottom line, her breakfast did not sit too well with her on Friday the 10th. Bad food coupled with singing and gyrating around the GMA stage just stirred up the gastric acids in her stomach causing intense cramping sending her to the ER. End of story.
Just because Star Jones lied does not mean that every Black woman lies about her weight loss journey. And do you really believe that Weight Watchers would open themselves to possible lawsuits of false advertising for Jennifer Hudson? I think not.

Your Scale

Your Scale: Want a Side of Sabotage with That?

Body & Soul · by Curvy Magazine — June 3, 2011 ·
Do you feel compelled to weigh yourself all the time because you’re overweight? Are you sick and tired of having your scale tell you how you’re entitled to feel and what kind of day you’re going to have?

I’ll just bet that depending upon the number shown; you’ll either feel like celebrating or commiserating. I’ve got news for you. Your scale isn’t your horoscope. And it’s high time you reclaimed your power over this miserable piece of scrap metal.

Here’s why:
Your Thinking Body and the Mind/Body Connection
Most overweight people would swear on a stack of bibles that you have to weigh yourself to check your progress. For years I agreed with that belief until I became a professional empowerment coach and began to study what is known as the mind/body connection.
Simply put anything that affects your mind, affects your body and vice versa. Let’s say that you love donuts and someone offers you a whole plateful of all your favorites. You think about eating them and immediately your mouth fills with saliva. This is an example of your mind and thoughts affecting your body.

Why Your Scale Could be Sabotaging Your Progress

Have you ever tried on a pair of jeans that are too tight and immediately you feel horrible about yourself? Isn’t that the quickest route to a binge? This is your body affecting your mind. Scientific research has proven that there is a complex system of communication that goes on consistently between your mind and body. This goes on behind the scenes without you having any conscious awareness of it. Scientists have isolated neurotransmitters (chemical messengers of thought) and discovered that they are in every cell of our bodies. That means that your body and mind are always standing at attention, waiting patiently for you to issue commands. The things you tell yourself will determine how you feel and what you do.

As dieters or weight watchers, we tend to think of ourselves as fat and we learn all the habits and ways of thinking that reinforce our belief that we have no control over food. This is called the diet mentality.

Break Free of the Diet mentality by Listening to and Respecting Your Body
Since August 2006 I have been committed to changing many of my weight watching habits and learning how to live, eat and think like a naturally slender woman.
My experience has taught me that if you want to get thinner, you have to start listening to your body, not the scale. You must learn how to master your relationship with food. The problem is not what you’re eating, but what’s eating you!

Constantly monitoring your weight on the scale keeps you thinking like a fat person and you can’t be thin if you’re thinking fat. Naturally slim people never weigh themselves and therefore probably have no idea of their weight. This is because they don’t rely on an external authority to tell them how to control their eating. They have a peaceful, balanced and healthy relationship with food and they are guided to eat by listening to their bodies.

My Experience as a Former Scale Hopper
For years, I had a bathroom scale inside a large walk-in closet in my bathroom. Each morning before I dressed, I would jump on the scale and weigh myself, and then I would relieve my bladder and start all over again. It was a maddening and crazy cycle that kept me feeling horribly shameful.
One day, when I was living in my guilty little world of scale obsession, I was presented with a great opportunity to speak at a networking event to introduce myself to other businesswomen in my local community. It meant coming out from behind the safety of doing teleclasses and phone coaching, and presenting myself in the flesh as The Juicy Woman.
But I knew I wasn’t at the top of my game. The night before I’d eaten more than I wanted to and my body felt bloated and fat. Normally I’d be a lot more confident, but because it had been awhile since I had spoken live, I was nervous and upset, fearing that the women there would judge me as being a big, fat fraud. After all, most people would reason that a plus size woman has no right in the world calling herself a body image and self esteem expert. It just doesn’t compute for many people and that morning, it didn’t add up for me either.

As I was getting dressed for the day, I made this incredibly stupid bargain, goading myself to get on the scale. Here’s how it went.
“Andrea, you don’t have anything to worry about, sweetie. We’re just checking here. What’s the harm in knowing? Knowledge is power. Right? You know that those tortilla chips will probably show up as a gain so as long as you expect it… What’s the big deal? No matter what the scale says it won’t matter, because you’re stronger than that. After all, you live and breathe this stuff. You teach it all the time. You already know how your thoughts affect your body, so you won’t let that happen. Right?”

I swore up and down that no matter what I could handle it. But I couldn’t. I watched in the mirror as my tears rolled down my cheeks, knowing that there was no way I could go to that meeting. I had lost the magic. The Juicy Woman had left the room.
I’ve since learned how to overcome those types of sabotages and upsets using a simple tapping process called Emotional Freedom Technique. I’ll teach you all about it another time. But for now please learn from my mistake. Remember that when you get on the scale, you will create unnecessary stress and tension which can sabotage your progress. Protect yourself from the heat, and step away from the scale. I promise you won’t be sorry.
